When you shop at O’Reilly Auto Parts, you can take comfort in the fact that customer satisfaction is the top priority. Part of that satisfaction relies on having a return policy that customers can rely on in the event they need to exchange or return an item. The O’Reilly Auto Parts return policy is customer-friendly, and it’s important to know what the policy is when you shop in store or online.

In Store Returns



If for some reason you need to return an item you purchased in store, you have 90 days to return the item with a valid receipt. You may return most items with the exception of electrical parts, opened chemicals, and special order items. If you don’t have a valid receipt, you may still be able to return the item for store credit. Whether you have a receipt or not, you will need to provide a valid government-issued ID.

Online Returns



If you shop online and need to return an item, you have 30 days from the time of purchase to return the item. The item must be in its original packaging, and you must have a valid receipt. The same restrictions apply as with in store returns, with the addition of video products, which can’t be returned. You may return items online through the O’Reilly Auto Parts website.

Refunds & Exchanges



If you return an item in store within 90 days of purchase with a valid receipt, you may receive a full refund. If you don’t have a valid receipt, you may still be able to receive store credit. Refunds for items returned online are credited to the original payment method. Exchanges are available in store with a valid receipt, and you may exchange for a different item or the same item with a different size. Exchanges online are processed as returns, so you will receive a refund and will need to place a new order.

Shipping Costs



If you return an item online, you will be responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping costs are not refundable. If you don’t have a receipt, you won’t receive a refund, but you may receive store credit. If you’re exchanging an item online, you will also be responsible for shipping costs associated with the new item.

Special Order Items



Special order items are not eligible for return or exchange. Items that are considered special orders include items that are not regularly stocked in store, items that must be ordered from a vendor, and items that are shipped directly from a vendor. If you’re not sure whether an item is considered a special order item, please ask a store associate.
